BioDioRama is free to use. By using it you agree to these terms.

Using BioDioRama

You may use BioDioRama for research, teaching, study, publishing and other lawful purposes, with no account. Please don't use it to break the law, to infringe anyone else's rights, or to disrupt the website (for example by overloading it or trying to get round its security).

What you make

The figures, scenes and pictures you make are yours, and so are the photos and files you bring in — make sure you have the right to use them. Library illustrations generated by BioDioRama may be used freely in your work.

Some library items and reference images come from open scientific data with its own licence. When you publish a figure that includes them, give the credit lines listed under Figure credits. Items under a share-alike licence (CC BY-SA, such as the Digimouse mouse anatomy models) mean the figure should be shared under the same licence. See Privacy & licence for the full list of sources.

Your work is stored on your device

BioDioRama keeps your work in your browser and never uploads it, so we cannot recover it. Clearing your browser's data, or using a private window, can delete it. Export or save a project file for anything you want to keep.

Accuracy

Pictures and models are illustrations for teaching and communication. They are simplified, not to exact scale, and not medical, clinical or safety advice. Check scientific details against primary sources before you rely on them.

No warranty

BioDioRama is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted availability. Features may change or be removed at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, BioDioRama and its maker are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost work, data, time or profits, arising from the use of — or inability to use — BioDioRama. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.

Other names

BioDioRama is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the makers of other programs named on this site, such as the Blender Foundation (Blender®) or Science Suite Inc. (BioRender). Those names belong to their owners and are used only to say which programs BioDioRama's files work with.
