Organelles: 16 3D models
Nucleus, mitochondria, ER, Golgi, chloroplasts and more (real sizes 0.1–10 µm). Each one is a ready-made 3D model you can turn, recolour and place in a figure — open BioDioRama and type its name in the Library search.

Core organelles 3
- Nucleus — The control centre: DNA (as chromatin) inside a double-membrane envelope pierced by nuclear pores, with the nucleolus making ribosomes. (≈ 5–10 µm)
- Mitochondrion — The powerhouse: an outer membrane and a folded inner membrane (cristae) where ATP is made. (≈ 1–2 µm long)
- Nuclear pore complex — A ring of eight protein columns in the nuclear envelope, with filaments on the outside and a basket inside. (≈ 120 nm)
Plant organelles 2
- Chloroplast — Where photosynthesis happens: stacks of thylakoid discs (grana) floating in the stroma, inside a double envelope. (≈ 5 µm long)
- Vacuole — A big water-filled sac — huge in plant cells, where it keeps the cell firm. (up to 90% of a plant cell)
Endomembrane system 3
- Rough ER — Stacked membrane sacs studded with ribosomes — where secreted and membrane proteins are made. (sheets ≈ 50 nm thick)
- Smooth ER — A network of membrane tubes that makes lipids and stores calcium. (tubes ≈ 50 nm wide)
- Golgi apparatus — A curved stack of flattened sacs (cisternae) that packages and ships proteins in vesicles. (≈ 1–3 µm)
Vesicles & bodies 5
- Lysosome — A bubble of digestive enzymes that breaks down worn-out parts and invaders. (≈ 0.1–1 µm)
- Peroxisome — A small membrane sac that breaks down fatty acids and detoxifies hydrogen peroxide; often has a crystal core. (≈ 0.5–1 µm)
- Vesicle — A small membrane bubble that carries cargo around the cell; can be coated with a clathrin cage. (≈ 50–200 nm)
- Endosome (multivesicular body) — A sorting station: a larger vesicle filled with small inner vesicles. (≈ 0.5 µm)
- Lipid droplet — A drop of stored fat wrapped in a single lipid layer. (≈ 0.1–100 µm)
Cytoskeleton & motility 3
- Centrosome — Two barrel-shaped centrioles at right angles, made of nine triplets of microtubules, in a cloud of pericentriolar material. (≈ 1 µm)
- Cilium / flagellum — A hair-like projection with the classic "9 + 2" ring of microtubule doublets, cut open at the tip. (≈ 0.25 µm wide)
- Cytoskeleton network — The cell's scaffolding: thick microtubules, thin actin filaments and rope-like intermediate filaments. (fibres 7–25 nm)
